The story
It’s not always easy to “read” a book in peace aboard a ship. Especially when the book contains illustrations of the sea’s most well-proportioned herrings. Yet sailor John Carnage has managed to find a quiet spot to enjoy his literature… or so he thinks. The puffin on his shoulder has also noticed the book’s visual content, and it’s more horrified than thrilled by what it sees. This design captures the moment just before the puffin lets out a terrified scream, revealing to the other sailors where John has been hiding with his favorite book.
