Faroese Fisher Knit
The story
This knit is like an echo from the sea - a story from days gone by, woven in wool. The design was inspired by an old photo we found of a Faroese fisherman wearing this type of sweater. For centuries, Danes have cast admiring glances across the North Atlantic at the Faroese creativity and craftsmanship behind these iconic knits.
Traditional Faroese fishermen’s sweaters were made to keep the wind out and the warmth in - built for life on the rough North Atlantic seas.
Our Faroese Fisher Knit is a tribute to that legacy. It’s also a nod to a time when sailors didn’t just spin yarns of pirates and sea monsters - but also knitted their own sweaters.
Wear it as a warm mid-layer under a jacket, or let it shine on its own as a statement piece steeped in history - ready for you to add your own story over time.
