This sailor mackerel came to life on my dining table and is far from the first mackerel that found itself lying here. The design was inspired by a surftrip to Klitmøller, where hundreds of mackerels were lying on the beach in the shallows. I asked a local resident about this mysterious gathering.
He told me that it is the mackerels’ desperate last attempt to escape their fate as cod snacks. If this really is true, surely it won’t be long before they adapt evolutionary to their local environment. The logical first step for this is to get a sweater and micro beanie. Growing arms and legs must be the next step ⚓️
