Recycled Fibres

Most of our new products are made from 100% recycled fibers. This makes the product part of something bigger than its own (long!) lifespan.

The fabric gives the same high quality as our other products and feels great on your skin. Read more in the description of our t-shirts and sweatshirts.

Lyocell (Tencel)

Tencell is the trademark of the fiber type Lyocell - a material created from eucalyptus trees. A fast growing wood type that does not require pesticides or great amounts of water.

The material is light, strong and feels smooth against the skin. Lyocell absorbs moisture twice as fast as cotton, is breathable and dries quickly. Its natural properties even makes it great at removing odeur.

Seaqual

SEAQUAL™ is a material made from recycled plastic, some of which is collected by fishing boats along the coasts of Europe.

’Upcycling the Ocean’ is the project behind, which through their local and global initiatives help extract at least 1000 kg garbage from the oceans every single day.

Coconuts

The majority of the buttons in our shirts are made from coconut shells. These often end up as risidual waste, so being able to use this hard yet beautiful material for buttons makes perfect sense to us. This also makes all buttons as unique as the coconuts themselves.

Recycled Bottles

Recycled plastic bottles are turned into polyester thread, saving the ressources it would have taken to create the polyester from scratch.

Despite its bleak reputation, polyester has many advantages. It is extremely durable which makes the product lifespan much longer than many alternatives.

Flax

Flax is a natural and sustainable material which absorbs moist twice as well as cotton and is great at adapting to temperature changes. The fabric is very durable and keeps it shape after many washes, giving flax products a long lifespan.

Organic Cotton

Cotton is a natural material made from the cotton plant. The difference between organic and conventional cotton, is that no pesticides are used and that the carbon footprint is smaller.

The making of conventional cotton is responsible for 15% of all pesticide usage worldwide. Not only the insects suffer a dire faith from this. The pesticides also takes it toll on the soil and surrounding water deposits.

We believe a chemical free product is better for the earth as well as your skin, and that is just a few good reasons for choosing organic cotton.

BCI Cotton

The Better Cotton Initiative is a global organization focused on educating cotton farmers in more sustainable and efficient cotton production.

Some of the subjects taught are how and when to harvest for the highest yield, how to protect fields from bugs, and how to keep the soil healthy, for example by growing sesame instead of cotton every other year.

BCI is on a mission to reduce water and chemical use in cotton production, while yielding greater harvests to the farmers.

Sustainability in time

Even though a product is made from a sustainable material, it still requires a lot of ressources to create. That makes the lifespan of the product very important to consider, when talking about sustainability.

It may sound good that a t-shirt is made from organic cotton, but if it falls apart after two washes, it is definitely not a sustainable product.

That is why we focus a lot on the durability of our products, when choosing materials and printing techniques.
